Wanna hear the best news ever?

“God’s love does not waver depending on our behavior or actions- He constantly loves us..”

Have you ever felt unwanted? Unloved? So covered in sin that you thought ‘nobody loves me, God doesn’t even want me.’ The honest truth is- we’ve all been there, we’ve all felt that. We have all felt filthy, dirty and knee deep in our lies and past. But, the good news? The best news EVER? We are saved by grace alone through faith alone.

Whoa. I mean, just wow. Take that in for a second. Thank. You. God. For that amazing, beautiful truth You provide us with.

“No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.” “Acts 15:11

 The verse above comes after:

“Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.” “Acts 15:1

The difference in the two verses is what used to be required before salvation and the new covenant since Jesus came and fulfilled the law. By saying, through the grace of Jesus, makes everyone on the same playing field- we are all saved by grace through faith.

“He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.” “Acts 15:9

Want to know some more good news? God’s love is unconditional. It does not matter what we do: lie, cheat, steal, murder, etc. HE STILL LOVES YOU. God’s love does not waver depending on our behavior or actions- He constantly loves us, His sons and daughters and wants nothing but to shower us with grace and love. Acts chapter 15 addresses these issues- the nitty gritty of the gospel, if you will. It beckons the question: Do we need more than faith and grace? What happens when I’m in a season of feeling unloved, broken, ashamed, sinful, and down? How does the Lord cover all of this?

As I mentioned above, we are saved by grace alone through faith alone. That answer in itself is enough. When we are in a season of feeling anything and everything negative, if you are in Christ, even in your lowest moment, God says, “You’re mine.” The Lord covers all of this by dying on the cross for our sins, the ultimate sacrifice.

“But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” -Romans 5:8

Who does that?! Who looks at all of our flaws, sins, pasts, lowest moments of life and still says You’re mine?! Only one, God. The gospel constantly reminds us of this, no matter how many times we may forget or we may stray. As I sit here constructing this post, I have worship music on in the background. Currently it is the song “I Am Set Free” by All Sons and Daughters. It is for freedom that I am set free.

Guys. We are free. We are loved. In Christ, we are His. We are enough. Rejoice in this always.

With all His love,

Elisabeth Ragan
