Counseling is an important part of our ministry at Wells Branch Community Church. We want our church members, visitors, and the Wells Branch and North Austin community at large to have access to professional counseling. Update on Counseling Ministry
Hey Church Family,
I wanted to send a note out about our counseling ministry. Our finance committee recommended that we no longer charge for counseling services and offer it as a completely free ministry to ensure tax compliance. The elders wanted to be fully above board when it comes to that so we are now offering counseling free of charge.
Hailey Hengst LPC-A is the counselor who will be free. We are grateful for her gifts and abilities and the fact that she is getting her counseling experience with our church blesses her and us. I bring this up because our counseling fund has been depleted. The counseling ministry relies solely on donations from clients and those who have been blessed by the ministry or want to bless the ministry. So for the rest of this fiscal year, we can only offer counseling through Hayley. She will be taking clients as normal. We only ask that if you have been blessed by this ministry or want to bless others in this ministry that you would give to it here. For those of you who want to see or have been seeing Michael McGinnis, you still can at a discounted rate for Wells Branch Community Church through Space of Grace Counseling. We love Michael and want to support his ministry as he has helped me personally and many others in the church.
As for the future of the counseling ministry, the elders will be praying about how to continue this moving forward as we have seen the incredible work God has done through Michael and all the counselors who have served our church.

Life can be a strange blend of “good” and “bad.” Sometimes there are things we can do to control our circumstances, other times, we cannot. In situations where we can, it can still be difficult to know where to begin, how to start, and which direction to move in. Even in situations that we cannot control, we still have some control over how we think about the situation, how we frame it in our minds, and how we make meaning of it. Thoughts dictate emotions, and emotions very often drive behavior. Helping people identify some of their thoughts and emotions, and then equipping them with tools to move forward in a positive and healthy way, is something I am passionate about. I have found these tools to be as helpful to me in my own personal life as they have been as a clinician. Hello WBCC family in Christ. My name is Michael McGinnis and I'm a Certified Biblical Counselor and founder of A Space Of Grace Counseling in Round Rock Texas. I am a retired schoolteacher, an empty nester, and an active member of Mosaic Church Austin. I've been in practice 3 1/2 years. My idea clients are married and engaged couples, families, teens, and pre-teens. I also specialize in working with men dealing with anger, anxiety, depression, addiction, communication challenges and childhood wounds.
