Our Purpose: Love God. Love people. Make disciples.
In one way all churches are the same. They are called by God to love God, love people, and make disciples according to Jesus’ Great Commandment and Great Commission.
THE GREAT COMMANDMENT
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-40)
THE GREAT COMMISSION
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Our Vision
Our vision is that every man, woman, and child in Greater Austin has the chance to experience the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ because they hear the gospel from the lips of someone from Wells Branch Community Church or a sister church in partnership with the Association of Hill Country Churches.
How will we reach 2 million people?
Wells Branch Community Church was planted in 2009 by Hill Country Bible Church Pflugerville, which was planted in 2000 by Hill Country Bible Church Austin. In all, HCBC Austin has planted 25 churches in the greater Austin area and beyond, and continues to train leaders to plant churches. At Wells Branch Community Church we are committed to carrying on this tradition of church planting to reach the Greater Austin area. We planted our very own church plant, Eastside Community Church in 2017, who in turn planted Refuge Community Church in 2019.
We believe that if 10% of the city is engaged in a spiritually vibrant church, our vision will become reality in our lifetime.
