“Be killing sin or it will be killing you.” – John Owen

This profound phrase is the premise of our next series at The Well titled, “Mortification of Sin”, after the John Owen’s short book (buy on Kindle here for $1.99). This book is rooted in the words of the Apostle Paul, “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live”. (Romans 8:13).

After polling our young adult community about the most common sin struggles and challenging issues for our generation, a few surfaced to the top more than others:

• Entitlement
• Approval & comparison
• Lust & sexual immorality
• Laziness & lack of planning
• Drunkenness
• Vulgarity

So we will be taking an in-depth look at these struggles, examining these questions together:

1. What does culture say?
2. What does the Bible say?
3. How we can identify and put sin to death?
