How will YOU help?

I hope that everyone has had a great week, giving thanks to God for all His blessings and devoting time every day to pray. That we are praying on behalf of our spiritual brothers and sisters who are spreading the Gospel, suffering because of it; also for the peoples heart’s they are pouring into.

Pastor Jose Dilson, a Brazilian missionary who has worked in West Africa for 25 years, faces a possible prison term in connection with the Christian conversion of a Muslim leader’s son. Pastor Dilson distributed 350 Bibles and witnessed to many fellow prisoners. He and his family have asked us to pray that they will not be fearful but will give a good testimony of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The final ruling on Pastor Dilson’s case is expected soon. How truly beautiful is that? I Pray we not only keep him and his family in our prayers but, also aim to have even a bit of faith like that.*

India

Pastor Attacked Pastor Ramavath along with others, suffered serious injuries in an attack by a mob of more than 50 people on Dec. 14, 2014, in India. This is just one example of the sufferings Christian believers face; especially as persecution from radical Hindu groups in India, has increased in the past year.

Christians are being beaten for choosing Christ, and pastors and evangelists are at risk of imprisonment for “forced conversion.” India’s constitution, currently provides freedom of religion, but states with anti- conversion allows officials to falsely charge Christians. Radical groups in India are seeking a national anti-conversion law and are on a campaign to create an entirely Hindu nation.

Let us pray for Pastor Ramavath, and others like him who have suffered at the hands of radical groups, for their healing and continued fellowship. That the laws are only rightfully enforced. That the radicals are not successful in creating a Hindu nation. Blessings and comfort for the 1,000 believers in India, being trained . For the hearts of the persecutors, that they be softened and experience God’s love.

Latin America

Praise God for the first completion of the specialized sex crimes unit of the Guatemalan National Police Academy, a course that IJM helped to develop in coordination with UNICEF and Guatemalan officials. Praise God that the Guatemalan Vice President is scheduling a closing ceremony for the course to commemorate the first ever completion of the course. Pray that this course would receive good feedback and recognition, and that the over 60 participants would find their training practical and easy to implement when in the field.

Thanks for reading!
