I hate being lost. Especially when I’m late. I’m not sure if I hate asking for directions more than being lost. It’s not that I’m overly bashful, it’s more that I don’t trust someone that I don’t know to give me good directions. I think, “That guy will never see me again, what’s to say he won’t just send me on my way to only God knows where without a second thought?”

I think we are all like that. We may not know the right way to go on a situation, but to ask for help is not the “American way” okay, the American man’s way.

Isn’t it true that most of us would rather figure out directions on our own, than ask for help. I’m not talking about geographical confusion anymore. I’m talking about where we are leading our lives. It might be time to ask someone we can trust for directions.

The Ancient King Solomon said this, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death”. (Proverbs 14:12)

When God isn’t our first consult, when godly advice is not sought or heeded, things are going to end badly. Nobody plans life to turn out poorly. Nobody starts climbing the ladder of success thinking death awaits. But what happens when the ladder is leaning against the wrong wall?

Imagine for a moment what would happen if you really believed God wanted your best. Imagine for a moment, trusting your Creator with your next financial, relationship, or career decision. Imagine that this infinitely wise Creator knows your deepest dreams and aspirations. Imagine that this Creator wants good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

The Bible teaches that God does want your best. He won’t tempt you beyond what you can bear. He wants you to trust Him with all your heart and not to lean on your own understanding. If you acknowledge him in all your ways, He will direct your path. And God has promised that all things work for good for those who love him and are called according to His purpose.

How can you lose?

It may not be easy, but you and I both know it will be best.
