Here at Wells Branch Community Church, our purpose is: Love God. Love People. Make Disciples. Our purpose in Connections Ministry is to connect with first time visitors and find out who they are, where they're at spiritually, and how we can help them take their next step. If you'd like to join our team in this purpose, check out the volunteer positions below and apply where you feel God calling you to serve.

Serve With Us

Values

Our commitment to you as a volunteer is to help you live a faithful and fruitful life for the glory of God. We are excited to see how God will work through you as you exercise your gifts to serve Him. We believe that as you are serving the church, you are serving God. All of us are growing in faith and none of us are content with our current level of maturity. Each of us needs to be faithful to read and apply God’s Word, pray and seek to grow in grace. Spiritual maturity also means looking to the needs of others and seeking their good. As a volunteer, you will have a more formal means of serving others, and these values will help you do that well:

Worship

We serve to magnify the Lord.

Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together! (Psalm 34:3)

Sacrifice

In humility, we place others above ourselves.

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3)

Edification

We use our unique gifts to build up the body of Christ.

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. (Romans 12:4-5)

Volunteer Positions

We have several positions where you can serve to help visitors feel welcome, get connected, and take their next steps.

Coffee Setup

The Coffee Setup Team helps create a welcoming environment by preparing and maintaining the coffee area for church attendees.

This role involves arriving at 7:30 AM to brew coffee and set up the coffee station on the deck. Team members ensure the area is clean, stocked, and organized for the service. The time commitment is 1.5 hours before the 9 AM service and 15 minutes at the end of the service.

Dependable and friendly individuals with attention to detail are a great fit for this position. By serving on the Coffee Team, you help make church a more welcoming place with great coffee and hospitality!

Coffee Cleanup

The Coffee Cleanup Team ensures the coffee station is properly closed down and cleaned after the 10:45 AM service.

This role involves bringing coffee station supplies inside and washing the coffee carafes. The time commitment is about 30 minutes after the service.

This position is perfect for dependable individuals who enjoy serving behind the scenes to support a welcoming church environment.

First Impressions

The First Impressions Team creates a welcoming experience for first-time visitors, helping them feel seen, valued, and supported.

Team members stand outside by the red tent to greet visitors, learn who they are, understand where they are spiritually, and guide them toward their next steps in their faith journey. The time commitment is 8:30–10:30 AM for the first service or 10:30 AM–12:30 PM for the second service.

This role is perfect for friendly, approachable individuals who enjoy connecting with others and making a positive first impression.

Welcome Team

The Welcome Team provides a friendly and organized experience for visitors and attendees, ensuring everyone feels cared for and connected.

Team members serve inside at the welcome desk, greet first-time visitors, collect their information for follow-up, and hand out visitor gifts. They also assist by ushering people to available seats, distributing connection pads, and counting attendees. The time commitment is 8:40–10:25 AM for the first service or 10:20 AM–12:05 PM for the second service.

This role is perfect for organized and personable individuals who enjoy helping others feel at home in the church community.

Prayer Team

The Prayer Team provides spiritual support and encouragement by praying with individuals during the last song of the service.

Team members are available to pray with those who wish to accept Jesus or need prayer for life circumstances. The time commitment is one song at the end of the service you attend, allowing flexibility to serve in other areas during a different service.

This role is perfect for compassionate individuals with a heart for prayer and a desire to support others in their faith journey.

Communion/Prayer Team

The Communion/Prayer Team provides both spiritual support and serves communion during the service.

Team members pray with individuals during the last song of the service and also serve communion during the second-to-last song. The time commitment is during these specific songs at the end of the service you attend.

This role is ideal for compassionate individuals who are comfortable serving communion and have a heart for prayer and spiritual care.
